Danilla Kembali Sendu Lewat Single Baru Berjudul Sarwa

JAKARTA - After holding the closing stage of the Pop Seblay era last September, Danilla was back with the latest single titled Sarwa.

Written by Danilla herself, Sarwa was created while filming the film Losmen Bu Broto for six months in Yogyakarta in 2021.

Danilla said Sarwa's writing process was motivated by the sad things that had happened to him. This song contains a legowo' philosophy from the people of Java, a acceptance of reality without breaking.

"When I wrote it, I imagined the sad things that had happened to me. Sarwa was a statement about the feeling of legowo. Like the visual appearance, a photo of me without cosmetic polesan, which can be interpreted sincerely," said Danilla in her statement, Wednesday, November 15.

"This song comes naked without any expectations," continued Danilla.

Different from Pop Seblay's album offering fanfare, Danilla wants to come back with a dark image that has been attached to her voice since releasing her first album in 2014, Telisik.

The choice of Sarwa as the title of the song, is interpreted as a necessity to return to that dark color.

"If the heart is hurt, it's better if we just leave it, whether it's on the good or bad side, put everything on the table. Don't keep it for too long, because once we are able to let it go, there will definitely be something new that is more interesting to welcome," said Danilla.

Although the song has been written since 2021, the arrangement has only been carried out in the middle of this year. Sarwa presents orchestral arrangements without piano which is considered to be able to resonate the character of Danilla's voice.

Danilla conducted experiments through her new single. Aldi Nada Permana was appointed as a music arranger. However, Lafa Pratomo is still sitting on the producer bench.

Sarwa's release is expected to be able to sparked Danilla's musicality in the future with a cinematic aura and noir nuanced melodies, poetic as early as.

Danilla is also said to have prepared several materials for the album to be released next.
