Ahead Of The Gold Concert, Achmad Albar Remembers God Bless's First Appearance In The TEAM 50 Years AGO

JAKARTA - The 50 Years of God Bless Gold Concert is ready to be held at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta on November 10. The legendary rock band will appear with an orchestra led by Tohpati.

Ahead of the concert, Achmad Albar recalled God Bless' performance for the first time at Taman Ismail Marzuki on March 5, 1973.

"Before this concert, it was like we felt the same adrenaline again 50 years ago, for the first time God Bless appeared at a concert at Taman Ismail Marzuki," said Achmad Albar during a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 25.

"We again want to make the 50 year old momentum of God Bless a special offering to all rock music lovers in the country," he continued.

Achmad Albar, who recently returned from the Netherlands, formed a band with Ludwig Lemans (guitar), Donny Fattah (bass), and Fuad Hassan (drums).

When appearing in TIM, the name God Bless was already used as the band name. At the age of Achmad Albar, he was still 27 years old.

"When we were in the TIM, we got our own name, God Bless. So, we appear with that name," said the vocalist who is familiarly called Iyek.

"At that time, we were still performing people's songs, because we didn't get a chance to record it. We got a chance to record 1976 with the album Huma Di Atas Bukit," he continued.

Through memories in the past, Achmad Albar ensured that careful preparations had been made in order to provide a different experience for the audience.

"We are well prepared, yes, it means that from one to two months ago we started training, and hopefully everything can go well. We will appear with a young spirit," said Achmad Albar.

In the concert later, the formation of God Bless who will appear are Achmad Albar (vocals), Ian Antono (guitar), Donny Fattah (bass), Abadi Soesman (keyboards), and Fajar Satritama (drums).

Several big names will also appear with God Bless, namely Anggun, Nicky Astria, Kaka Slank, Band Box, to guitarist Eet Sjahranie.

In addition to the names mentioned above, Padi Reborn will be present as the opening performer.

Meanwhile, the sale of tickets for God Bless 50 Years of Gold Concert with Tohpati Orchestra is still open to the public. Tickets are divided into four categories, namely Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Festival.

Platinum became the highest category with tickets for IDR 2,500,000. Then, the Gold category with ticket prices of IDR 1,250,000, the Silver category with ticket prices of IDR 750,000, and the Festival category with tickets for IDR 500,000.
