JAKARTA - Green Day shared details of the new album Saviors, and released a new single entitled The American Dream Is Killing Me.

Announced October 24, the upcoming album will mark the pop-punk trio's 14th studio album, and their first full-length release since 2020's Father Of All Motherfuckers.

The album will be released on January 19, 2024, via Reprise/Warner and is available for pre-order.

To mark the upcoming release, the band consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool also released a new single from the album, a fiery, punk-inspired song called The American Dream Is Killing Me.

Officially shared last Tuesday, the members first teased the new song last week when they gave the unreleased track its live debut at an intimate show in Las Vegas.

Held at the 1,000-capacity Fremont Country Club venue, the show served as a warm-up for their headline set at last weekend's When We Were Young festival and saw them perform new songs.

According to Green Day, The American Dream Is Killing Me was one of the last songs written and recorded for the Saviors.

“As soon as we recorded it, we said, ‘Okay, this is the first one,'” says Armstrong, who describes the new song as “a depiction of the traditional American Dream that doesn't work for a lot of people – in fact, it hurts a lot of people.”

The song also features a film noir-inspired visual accompaniment – directed by Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley – which features Green Day in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. See below.
