Recent Study Reveals Age When Children First Find Their Favorite Band

JAKARTA - A recent study shows a child found his favorite band at the age of 13 years. This research was conducted by TickPick in the Music Tastemakers program. This research also shows how parents influence their children to like music.

A total of 500 parents and listeners took the survey by TickPick. There are 10 important factors that determine a child in listening to music. In the first place there are friends as much as 66 percent, followed by radio playback as much as 59 percent and music from movies as much as 52 percent. The three under it are father, mother, TV, concerts, siblings, social media, and hobbies.

In fact, many parents listen to several musical choices for their children. There are several ways to introduce your child to songs they might like. As much as 40 percent, parents play specific songs and are followed by monitoring electronic devices or devices used by children.

There are several reasons why parents try to provide music recommendations to their children. The reasons are avoiding inappropriate content such as the use of harsh language, to encourage references from children, avoiding dangerous music industry cultures, and avoiding musicians who can be bad influences on children.

At the age of 13 years, the child usually finds his favorite band after six months of listening to songs from the band. Most parents often disagree with what their children listen to so they choose to give recommendations to the child.

TickPick also stated that children who go to concerts with their parents have a stronger bond. The genre most shared between parents and children is pop, at 43 percent. Then classic rock as much as 27 percent and hip hop / rap as much as 26 percent.
