Ross Halfin's Velvet Revolver Photobook Released

JAKARTA - Goodminal Publications announced the release of the latest photobook, Velvet Revolver By Ross Halfin. The book focuses on Velvet Revolver, a band formed in 2002 by former Guns N 'Roses members; Duff McKagan, Slash and Matt Sorum.

Sorum, McKagan, Slash and guitarist Dave Kushner are looking for vocalists openly after two years without a permanent vocalist. Finally they chose the former Stone Temple Pilot vocalist, Scott Weiland.

Velvet Revolver then released two full albums through the 2004 RCA/Sony BMG Contraband and the 2007 Libertad before sacking Weiland in April 2008.

Tracing a long and convoluted path of rock history, the term "supergroup" has been used to describe the collaborations carried out by well-known musicians for establishing themselves with other popular bands.

Many of these projects tend to be short-lived and rarely capture the collective or individual greatness achieved by these musicians in previous bands.

However, often, one of the so-called "supergroups" actually conveys the theoretical numbers of its parts and writes, records, and displays music that stands on its own capabilities and strengths and strengthens its place in the hearts and minds of rock music fans around the world. One of the bands is Velvet Revolver.

After completely dominating in the early and mid-1990s alongside Guns N' Roses Slash and McKagan found themselves somewhat adrift in the early 2000s since leaving the only bona fide band ever dubbed the "largest band in the world".

In fairly similar circumstances, another rock giant in the 1990s - Stone Temple Pilot - has publicly exploded as a result of their own internal politics.

Despite all the current cultural dramas andzeitgeists that did not specifically mention this group, Velvet Revolver was formed with Weiland, Slash, McKagan, Sorum and Kushner, and may be despite such difficulties offering their stunning debut album, Contraband, on June 8, 2004.

The album peaked at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and sold more than two million copies in the United States alone a truly extraordinary achievement according to anyone's standards and serves as a reminder of the undisputed quality of music. The second album, Libertad, followed three years later after countless concerts worldwide, and the album landed at No. The Billboard 200 is huge and gold certified in Canada and New Zealand.

History will eventually repeat itself and the same force that caused the band's start will reappear to thwart Velvet Revolver once and forever in 2008.

However, photographer Ross Halfin is at every step to capture the band in beautiful and bad times, and this photobook represents the total Velvet Revolver journey and serves as a timely reminder that sometimes, although rare, "supergroup" can be really super.

The book, published from short-lived Velvet Revolver, celebrated the brightness of a limited-edition one-book Velvet Revolver which consists of only 500 copies numbered around the world with an introduction by McKagan.

Present in 340 high-quality art pages, with covers printed in the unique Carbon X slipcase format plus prints and posters signed by Ross Halffin, this book is a unique visual documentary from Velvet Revolver.
