Concerning The 31F Concert, Bongky, Indra, And Pay Have Obtained A Performance Rights Permit From Slank

JAKARTA - Where did the old slanker sound? Sorry, we're not talking about the oldest and the most Slanker. We are capturing an extraordinary phenomenon related to the planned concert of three former Slank Formation 13 personnel who were kicked out of the band from Gang Potlot 24 years ago.

Yes, Bongky Ismail Marcel (bass), Indra Qadarsih (keyboard), and Pay (guitar) will bring the best songs of Slank's first five album era; Suit ... Suit ... He ... He (Sexy Girl) (1990), Kampungan (1991), Piss (1993), Generation Blue (1994), and Minority (1996). But, not with Kaka and Bimbim, you know. They will invite several vocalists and hook two drummers. Anyone?

"The vocalists are still auditioning. The drummers are Massto Sidharta and Adi Lawido," Bongky told VOI via the WhatsApp application message, Wednesday, February 19.

For information, Massto is Bimbim's younger brother as well as a drummer from the band Kidnap Katrina who also grew up in Potlot. Meanwhile Adi Lawido is now a Tony Q drummer.

When asked about the possibility of joining Ragot alias Togar - the vocalist of Indra Lesmana Project who had uploaded a video of singing the song Kalah on Instagram - into the line of guest vocalists, Bongky was reluctant to provide certainty.

"Still tentative," he said.

The strong impetus from 'below' seems to make the BIP generals unable to resist nor realize the dreams of their fans. Moreover, the Formasi 13 reunion concert seems only to be a discourse. Never mind seeing Bongky, Indra, Pay, Kaka and Bimbim back on stage performing dozens of Slank's old songs, seeing the five of them perform just one song seems just wishful thinking.

Pay and Indra had appeared at several Slank concerts as special guests. Both of them took part in the song Anyer 10 March and Sexy Girls at Slank's 30th birthday celebration at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium seven years ago. Indra even appeared on a television show presenting Too Manis and of course Anyer March 10. Meanwhile, Bongky, at that time, clung to his idealism not to get involved.

The climax exploded when the bassist sued Slank regarding the use of the butterfly-shaped logo he made. The tension had subsided when she attended the 82nd birthday of Bunda Iffet, Bimbim's mother, last August. Pay and Indra were there too.

But after that, the hopes of Formation 13's reunion were like dust blown by the wind. The news of the wind was blowing, Kaka and Bimbim did not really object to the reunion, but there was a 'big rock' blocking the Slanker's Eid celebration. What? Let time answer that.

While the fans were desperate to wait for the formation of the Formation 13 reunion. With no wind, no rain, Bongky uploaded some information on his Instagram account about BIP's concert plan to bring Slank's best songs.

Currently, the project is called 31F (Three One Formation) or it may be the opposite of F13 (Formation 13). Ah, whatever the name is, that's the hallmark of the Bongky, Indra, and Pay styles, which are said to be more slengean than Slank now.

Then when will the 31F concert be held? "It has not been determined because Indra has not yet docked (practice / jamming)," Bongky confirmed.

But one thing is for sure, Bongky, Indra, and Pay have received permission from Slank regarding the use of songs from albums 1-5 in the concert. Yes, the three of them will pay Slank performance rights (the right to use music played in public places) so that there are no problems in the future.

"We have permission (with Slank) and we share performance royalties," Bongky concluded.
