JAKARTA - Former Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel filled Willie Adler's position in three Lamb Of God shows in South America this week.

Previously, Demmel replaced Adler during the European tour of Lamb Of God in August 2022, a January 2022 appearance on the ShipRocked cruise ship and in May for Canadian part of Lamb Of God's "The Metal Tour Of The Year" with Megadeth.

In addition to playing with Lamb Of God at Tuesday's concert, April 25 at Bogot Orang, Colombia, Demmel also performed with the band on Thursday night at Santiago, Chile and on Saturday at the Summer Breeze festival in Srypto Paulo, Brazil.

Adler is expected to rejoin his bandmates in due time for their May 2 show in Mexico City.

In an interview with Oran O'Beirne from Bloodstock TV last August, vocalist Randy Blythe discussed Demmel's involvement with Lamb Of God.

"However, we made it work, to be fair. The part of the guitar was not easy. We played a song tonight, The Faded Line, and it was a song that hasn't been on our set for a long time because some people, like, 'Oh, it's hard.' And it's like, 'No. We need to play this.' And even he's just, like, 'Oh. We have to learn it. It's a chaotic riff'," said Randy.

"But we saw Phil join Slayer, like, a two-day notification in Europe at the end of the Slayer tour, because Gary Holt's father died. RIP and Phil came and did his job well. We've known him for a long time. years. There's never been a question whether he can do it. He's a very talented man."

In April 2022, Demmel also replaced John Campbell of Lamb Of God when the bassist had to miss several shows at "The Metal Tour Of The Year" for family reasons.

Demmel's performance with Lamb Of God marked his third high-profile filler show in four years. Demmel replaced Slayer guitarist Gary Holt for four European shows in the fall of 2018 after Gary returned home to accompany his dying father.

Demmel also replaced Dave Linsk in the Overkill concert on November 13, 2021 at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey and on the US spring tour of 2022.
