72 Seasons also topped the album Official Vinyl Album in Great Britain and landed at No. 1 on the Official Record Store charts as the studio album most purchased this week at the England independent record store.

Metallica previously reached No. 1 in England with Black Album (1991), Load (1996), and Death Magnetic (2008).

The album Hardwired... To Self-Destruct (2016) reached No. 2 on the UK charts, while several other albums also landed on Top 10, namely... And Justice for All in 1988 (No. 4), Download in 1997 (No. 4), and St. Anger in 2003 (No. 3) as well as the live album of the S&M2 orchestra (No. 2).

Meanwhile, Metallica's collaboration with Lou Reed, Lulu, in 2011, peaked at No. 36.
