Vivian Campbell Reveals Rick Allen's Latest Condition Since The Attack On The Florida Hotel Last Month

JAKARTA - Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell said Rick Allen "will be fine", less than a month after the drummer was attacked outside a Florida hotel.

Rick, who is in South Florida to perform a performance with Def Leppard at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, was attacked on March 13 while smoking a cigarette break outside the Four Seasons hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach.

A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, but no motive was given for the attack.

Police said the suspect, who initially hid behind a pole, ran towards Rick at full speed, hitting him and dropping him back and slamming his head onto the ground and "corresponding to injury".

The suspect, who faces charges of abuse against parents or disabled adults, was arrested on the same day and has since been released from prison.

Vivian discussed the attack during her appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" program on Friday last week. She described striker Rick as "a child on a spring holiday who couldn't hold back his beer or medicine or anything else."

"Rick will be fine. He's been going through a lot worse, obviously. He's a tough guy. He's really going to be fine," Vivian added.
