JAKARTA - Vocalist M. Shadows talks about the upcoming album Engaged Sevenfold, Life Is But A Dream..., which will be released June 2 through Warner.

In last week's SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" show, Shadow revealed the theme of the album's lyrics.

"It's related to each other so we explore the theme of existentialism and absurdism. Some of these are based on French philosopher Albert Camus and different existential ideas," said Shadow.

"So everyone plays together. It's not like we have a song about parties all night long and the next song is a very deep song about ego disappointment. Everything is played on this tough topic.

"(Album) The Stage (2016) is the same way, where it's not like Operation: Mindcrime (Queensryche), where you hear stories all the way, but have a theme. So this is the same kind of idea, that musically and thematically everything is in line."

Regarding whether the newly released single, Nobody represents the whole sound on the album Life Is But A Dream..., this is Shadows.

"I sent this song to some people I know, and they've heard Nobody, and they came back and said, 'I don't believe where this song is taking us'."

Nobody, Averaged Sevenfold's first official music release since the 2016 album The Stage, brings tensions, grooves, and dynamics for nearly six minutes. The song revolves around beyond conventional writing and relies on discomfort before releasing it.
