JAKARTA - More than half of adults living in the United States identify themselves as Taylor Swift's fans, a new survey reveals.

According to a survey conducted by market research firm Morning Consult, 53 percent of US adults say they are fans of the pop star.

The survey, conducted ahead of the Eras Swift tour - which began this weekend (March 17) in Glendale Arizona - explored "one of the most excited music fandoms, seeing who they are, what moved them and their favorite albums".

The survey also found that, of those fans of the singer, 16 percent were identified as "crafts", while Swift's fandom "most of them are millennials, and white, suburban and Democratic".

The findings reveal that nearly 74 percent of Swift's "antusiast" fans are white, with more than half living in suburban areas (53 percent), and the majority also identifying themselves as Democrats (55 percent). About half of Swift's fandom (49 percent) also reported household revenues below 50 thousand US dollars.

The separation of gender profiles, however, is more evenly distributed, with women reaching 52 percent, and men consisting of 48 percent.

The survey found that nearly half of Swift's (45 percent) fans were the millennial generation, but adult Gen Z only reached 11 percent, below Gen X (21 percent) and baby boomer (23 percent).

A separate survey question found that less than half (44 percent) of heavy fans considered themselves part of the "Swiftes" community.

The best album Swift, 1989, released in 2014, which includes songs such as Blank Space, Wildest Dream, and Shake It Off, ranks as the top album among adults as a whole and big fan.

Sementara itu, album debut self-titled milik Swift (2006), menempati peringkat kedua di antara penggemar berat dan ketiga di antara orang dewasa.

The survey was conducted from 3-5 March 2023 among samples representing 2,204 US adults.
