JAKARTA - Guns N 'Roses guitarist Slash launched a horror film production company, Cerkergang.

BerkerkerGang was announced in a Variety report, confirming that the production company was formed in partnership with Hangar 18 Media producer Pasha Patriki, founder of Ruge Morgue Magazine and filmmaker Rodrigo Gudi Bado as well as executive Raven Banner Michael Paszt, James Fler and Andrew T. Hunt.

Slash said about the new company in a statement to Variety.

"I've always been a big horror fan, especially when I go back to a time when horror films really scare you," said the curly-haired guitarist.

"I want to get into the core of the production business so I can try and make the film I want to watch.

Meanwhile, Hunt said that the aim of the flagship is quality, not quantity.

"We will selectively choose projects that we consider to represent the most brands," he said.

Our goal is to develop projects with filmmakers and writers who are just as excited about genre films like us, Paszt said.

Details of the first CerkerGang project are expected to be revealed at the Cannes film festival in May.
