JAKARTA - In a chat with Herman Li from Dragonforce recently, Polyphia guitarist Tim Henson talks about how he loves marijuana leaves as a teenager makes him proficient in playing guitar.

"I really like weeds. And in Texas, it's very illegal," Henson was quoted as saying by Metal Injection on Thursday.

"So when I was 16, I got two items. And I spent most of my middle school years on probation and punishment. So I had plenty of time to play guitar," he continued.

Henson could not do illegal things and develop more social skills. But, he also won't spend much time on guitar.

"So, I think now is the time, because we grew up as a band and grew up as people to learn social skills," he said.

Polyphia is an instrumental progressive rock band based in Plano, Texas, formed in 2010. The group consists of guitarists Henson and Scott LePage, Clay Gober bassist, and drummer Clay Aeschliman.

Sound Polyphia is best known for combining virtuoso guitar fillings with other musical styles. Originally rooted in metal-focused notes on their initial releases.

Polyphia developed their music into more progressive sound rock, combining electronic and hip hop music in the next production.

So far, Polyphia has released four studio albums, two EPs, and many singles. Their fourth album, Remember That You Will Die was released in October 2022.

This is their first album to enter the charts, debuting at number 33 Billboard 200.
