JAKARTA - The music group Paramore has released a new song titled The News which will be included in the upcoming sixth album, This is Why. The News is one of Paramore's most striking, dynamic and energetic songs. The song highlights the dynamics between drummer Zac Farro and Taylor York guitarist, while the lyrics performed by Hayley Williams describe feelings of anxiety and helplessness that come from the desire to stay up to date with recent events, mixed with emotional burdens because they are overwhelmed by 24-hour news cycles. Hayley said The News was one of the songs produced quite quickly and was fun from the start. According to him, it's like a fun medium between the characteristics of Paramore's classic dark feel and something that has never been shown before. "Seeing Zac record his drum track for this song is one of my favorite memories in the studio. The lyrics explain the meaning of the song itself," Hayley said in an official broadcast on Wednesday. The Grammy-winning trio will be on their global tour in the spring of 2023 to support the album This is Why, starting in South America in March, followed by England in April and North America starting May. The album This is Why will launch on February 10, 2023.
