JAKARTA - TALAS has released a new song, Inner Mounting Flame, featuring the voice of the late vocalist Phil Naro, who died in May 2021. Inner Mounting Flame marks TALAS's first new music since Live Speed ββOn Ice (1984).
Led by virtuoso bassist Billy Sheehan, TALAS is a unique blend of 1980s hard rock infused with modern metal headbanging.
Cutting through the cacophony of sounds is the clear vocals of Naro, who has been on the stage for centuries.
Sheehan stated, Inner Mounting Flame was the bombastic, high-speed adrenaline mess they often used as the opening theme to their 1985 show TALAS.
"We are staying close to the original arrangement," said Sheehan, quoted from Blabbermouth, Sunday, March 20.
"It was an amazing blast to record, and Phil sang the song. The title of the song comes from the title of the very famous fusion band's album (The Mahavishnu Orchestra β Inner Mounting Flame)."
Produced by Sheehan, Russ Mackay, Scott Bush and TALAS, Inner Mounting Flame is a rock song reminiscent of the band's long history that began in the 1970s.
