JAKARTA - Guitarist for metal band Lamb of God, Mark Morton is back with his second solo album. Titled Ether, the EP (mini album) containing five acoustic songs is scheduled to launch in January 2020 via Rise Records / BMG.
Like Morton's solo debut, Anesthetic, which was released earlier this year, the guitarist invites a number of high-profile musicians to bring their songs to life.
Ether features acts of Lizzy Hale (Halestorm), Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage, Light The Torch), John Carbone (Moon Tooth), and Mark Morales (Sons OF Texas), who are also members of the live band Morton. The EP consists of three original songs and two covers which once again showcases Morton's diversity as a musician.
"I'm excited to announce the release of a five-track EP, Ether, via Rise Records! Once again, I have the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented artists and friends, all of whom feature strong acoustic guitar components," said Morton, launching Blabbermouth. .
"Inspired by my acoustic performances last spring and summer in support of Anestesi, I started writing some new songs to reflect the softer atmosphere. I am happy with the results and I can't wait for everyone to hear what we have put together. I will premiere these songs on an upcoming UK acoustic tour, so you can hear them live before they're released elsewhere. "
Morton once again said he was honored to have the opportunity to work with so many such talented people. He is also grateful to the fans who continue to support his projects.
"Thank you very much everyone!" said Morton.
Here's a list of the composition of songs in Ether:
01. All I Had To Lose (featuring Mark Morales)
02.The Fight (featuring John Carbone)
03.She Talks To Angels (featuring Lzzy Hale)
04. Love My Enemy (featuring Howard Jones)
05.Black (featuring Mark Morales)
Ether was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Gojira, Trivium). The first single from the album, All I Had to Lose, featuring Mark Morales, will be released January 10.
After his first acoustic appearance at the Download festival earlier this year, Morton will return for several special and intimate acoustic shows in January. Joined Morton on the show, Mark Morales on vocals and Joe Harvatt on guitar.
"We had a great moment with an acoustic performance at Download and I really look forward to expanding that experience with an upcoming show," explains Morton.
"I can't wait to make every show special for all of you, acoustic versions of many songs by Anestesi, and covers of some of our favorite songs. We will also be debuting some new original material! Meet you all soon."
