Kymco G7 2026 Comes with Hybrid Technology and Aggressive Design, Price Rp68 Million

JAKARTA - Kymco is once again hitting the market by presenting the 2026 G7 model in Taiwan. This scooter is in the premium segment and developed from the KRV 180 base, but brings a number of important updates that make it look more modern, both in terms of design, features, and performance.

Visually, the Kymco G7 2026 still carries a sporty character that is thick through sharp body lines and the model's floorboard footrest. The most striking change is visible on the front which has now been redesigned, presenting a more aggressive and futuristic impression compared to the previous model.

Launching from Greatbikers, Friday, April 24, the main attraction of this motorcycle lies in the Smart Oil-Electric technology which carries the hybrid concept. The system is combined with an Integrated Starter Generator which not only makes the engine start process smoother, but also provides additional torque during acceleration and when performing overtaking maneuvers.

Behind its body, the G7 2026 is equipped with a 175.1 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a four-valve configuration. The power generated reaches 17.8 hp at 8,000 rpm, experiencing a slight increase compared to its predecessor.

Kymco has also managed to cut weight by around 8 kg thanks to the use of new materials and frame improvements, so the performance feels more responsive with an increasingly ideal power-to-weight ratio.

Another uniqueness comes through the PTM (Power Transmission Matrix) system. Unlike most scooters, the engine on the G7 is mounted directly to the frame, not on the swing arm. This approach makes the weight distribution more balanced and has an impact on increased stability, especially when traveling at high speeds.

The rear suspension sector also relies on a horizontal monoshock that emphasizes the premium impression. In terms of safety, Kymco attaches an IMU sensor from BOSCH which supports the Cornering ABS and Cornering TCS features, so as to help the rider remain confident when turning corners or facing challenging road conditions.

To support the driving experience, this motorcycle is equipped with an 8-inch TFT color screen that is capable of displaying various important information, such as speed, engine revolutions, navigation, and hybrid system status in real time.

The Kymco G7 2026 is offered in three attractive color options, namely Bright Red, Bright Blue, and Emerald Green. In the Taiwanese market, this scooter is priced at NT $ 125,800 or equivalent to around Rp. 68 million, making it one of the interesting options in the premium sport scooter class.
