Yamaha Gear Hybrid 125 Officially Lands In Malaysia, Selling Prices Are More 'Friendly' In Indonesia

JAKARTA - After launching early March 2025 in Indonesia, the Yamaha Gear Pro, also known as Ultima 125, officially landed in Malaysia which received a myriad of updates.

Based on Paultan's report, quoted on Sunday, November 30, the Yamaha Gear Pro is priced at 6,198 ringgit or around Rp24 million or more expensive than Indonesia, which is priced at Rp19 million.

The update is the same as in Indonesia, now Yamaha Gear is equipped with Power Assist, which automatically provides extra energy when accelerating from a stopping position, especially when driving with passengers or when starting to climb, to a maximum speed of 30 km/hour.

Combined with Smart Motor Generator (SMG) for stop-start driving and one-press start button, Ego Gear Pro Hybrid provides a smoother driving experience.

The power comes from a one-cylinder engine of Blue Core Hybrid Yamaha, SOHC, and air conditioning with a capacity of 125 cc. Yamaha Gear Pro Hybrid produces 8.4 PS power at 6,500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 9.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm, which is channeled to the rear wheels via CVT automatic transmission.

Other equipment is equipped with 110/70 tires mounted on 12-inch alloy rims. The braking uses the single hydraulic disc brakes on the front and the mechanical thromol brakes on the back, while the suspension uses conventional telescopic forks and adjustable single shock damping initially on the back.

There are also Y-Connect features that can be directly connected to smartphones, to provide several notifications such as call notifications, messages to vehicle maintenance, which of course make users more comfortable.

The most notable thing about this model is the tank that can accommodate 5.1 liters of fuel, while the 18.3 liter storage compartment is located under the seat, with two compartments at the front to store other items, which makes them have extensive flexibility.
