JAKARTA - Motorcycle sales in Indonesia surprisingly increased in October 2025, even sales in that month became the highest so far this year. There was at least a 4.09 percent increase in October

Based on records from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) seen by VOI, Tuesday, November 11, motorcycle sales as of October 2025 reached 590,362 units. This means that it rose 4.09 percent compared to September 2025 which only recorded 567,173 units.

Even when compared to year-on-year in October 2025 and 2024, the increase was still significant reaching 8.44 percent considering that in the same period last year only marketed 544,392 units.

Motor sales in October 2025 also became the highest throughout the year, this ranking was last achieved in July 2025 which was able to sell 587,048 units. Meanwhile, the smallest sales occurred in April with the achievement of 406,691 units.

In total, if the sales of motorbikes in Indonesia from January to October 2025 were recorded at 5,427,253 units, this figure has exceeded the achievement in the same period in 2024. Where, only 5,416,888 units, meaning that in 2025 there has been an increase of 0.19 percent.

However, AISI did not explain the segmentation of the motorcycle, duck, automatic, and sport market. However, the skutik motorcycle segment still dominates motorcycle sales in Indonesia with a market share of more than 90 percent.

AISI itself set the target for motorcycle sales in 2025 to reach a minimum of 6.4 million units to 6.7 million units. This figure is determined based on the achievement of motorcycle sales in 2024 which could reach a figure of up to 6,333,310 units.

AISI General Chair, Johannes Loman, said that from the start his party had set a sales target of 6.4-6.7 million units a year. According to him, in terms of market movements, his condition was still similar last year.
