Ducati XDiavel Enters US Market Goda Fans Harley-Davidson And Indian

JAKARTA Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati, known for its superbikes that set records on racing track, continues to lure motorists from American "big twin" brands such as Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle.

Their newest weapon on the mission is the latest aggressive and stylish XDiavel, a motor trying to blur the boundary between crudeer and sport bike.

First released in 2016 as an evolution of Diavel, this latest XDiavel comes with a significant improvement. Powered by a fierce 168-hp V4 engine, the motor affirms "sports" in the "sport cruise" category.

In a previous manufacturer release, called XDiavel, the latest began production in March 2025 and will be available in European dealers starting May 2025 and will follow in other countries that are present in two metallic patterns, namely Burning Red and Black Lava. The price itself ranges from 30 thousand US dollars or equivalent to Rp487 million.

Recently, North American Ducati CEO Jason Chinnock again explained XDiavel's position.

"This motorbike is at an intersection of sports and crudeing. It's relaxed, confident, with front leg controls for ergonomic, high power, advanced technology, and Italian design," he said, quoted by Autoweek, Monday, July 7.

The latest XDiavel is equipped with a 6.9-inch TFT screen that can connect to the Ducati Multimedia System, offering cell phone navigation and connectivity. The QuickShift 2.0 system allows no-coupling gear displacement, althoughition admits it takes time to master it.

Attracting New Buyers

Chinnock revealed that more than half of XDiavel's buyers are newcomers to the ducati world, and most of them come from Harley-Davidson users. This shows that there is a market segment that seeks a transition from traditional "big twin" motors to something more sporting but still retains the crudeer force element.

XDiavel may not be a cruiser in traditional definitions, but it manages to create its own categories: an interesting mix between Italy's sport bike power and a relaxed cruise style. The question is, are Harley-Davidson fans ready to switch and feel this unique "sport cruise" sensation?
