JAKARTA - Recently, the Jakarta to Bekasi areas were hit by floods after a high intensity of rain occurred. This makes several houses and vehicles affected by the natural disaster.

In order to facilitate the maintenance of vehicles affected by flooding, PT Pertamina Lubricants held a "Free Change of Oil" program for owners of two-wheeled vehicles which took place on March 7-9.

Vice President Marketing of PT Pertamina Lubricants, Nugroho Setyo Utomo said the program not only eased the burden of motorcycle maintenance, but also maintained the optimal performance of vehicles.

"Through this Free Oil Change program, we want to ease the burden on the community while maintaining the performance of vehicles so that they remain optimal," said Utomo in a statement received on Saturday, March 8.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Lubricants Technical Specialist Tri Purwanto said water could change the characteristics of lubricants which caused the oil to lose its ability to reduce friction between engine components.

According to Tri, if conditions are allowed to accelerate the wearability of the engine components, reduce engine efficiency, and increase the risk of severe damage due to excessive friction. Not only that, the risk of corrosion will also increase because it allows water to stay inside the machine for too long.

Oli, which has been mixed with water, must be drained immediately or defenseed to ensure that there is no water left on the machine before filling the new oil. The sign can be seen from the color of the oil, which has changed its brownness and foam like milk," Tri explained.

The 'Free Oil Change' service takes place at three location points:
