JAKARTA - A motorcycle brand from India, TVS is expanding its product line for the Indonesian market by introducing its newest electric motorcycle named iQube in the 2024 IMOS event.

iQube is an electric motor at a more affordable price than iQube S.

"After variant S, we launched the standard type iQube at a cheaper price, thus completing the choice of Indonesian consumers," said Deputy General Manager (DGM) of PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia, Rizal Tandju in Tangerang, Wednesday, October 30.

At first glance, iQube TVS has similarities in terms of appearance. However, what distinguishes it is about the technical aspects.

From the battery side, the standard iQube has a battery with a smaller capacity of up to 2.2 kWh which is able to provide a distance of up to 75 km in a full battery state. Meanwhile, iQube S uses a 3.4 kWh battery with a range of 100 km.

The performance of the two also has their own advantages with a 4.6 kW-powered electric drive that can run from 0 to 40 km/h in 4.2 seconds. However, the resulting top speed is different from iQube reaching 75 km/hour and iQube S to 78 km/hour.

Just like iQube S, the entry-level version of this series has tires measuring 90/90 with 12-inch rims for the front and back. This is supported by disc braking for the front and drums on the back.

This motorbike also provides a regenerative brake system for the heat of the braking system channeled as energy for batteries. For TVS iQube S it has an adjustment hydrolic rear suspension tuning, while iQube only with hydrolic settings.

Then, the standard iQube has up to 30 liters of baggage storage that can load only one helmet. In contrast to iQube S with a larger capacity of up to 32 liters which can include two helmets at once.

TVS iQube will enter the Indonesian market next year with a price tag below IDR 50 million. As an illustration, iQube S is sold for IDR 52.9 million.
