Kawasaki Presents Technical Changes To Versys, Machine Capacity Becomes 1,100cc

JAKARTA - One of the well-known motorcycle manufacturers, Kawasaki, launched a change to his top touring model named Versys. More than just a cosmetic change, this motorbike is also experiencing an increase in performance.

Launching from Motorcyclenews, Monday, September 30, the model called Versys 1100 is an upgraded version of Versys 1000. Which means, the engine capacity of this motorbike has increased.

The segaris 4-cylinder engine implanted in Versys experienced an increase starting from 1,043 cc to 1,099 cc through a longer stroke of up to 3 mm. Thus, the energy increased from 118 dk to 133 dk.

In developing the motorbike, this well-known brand from Japan focuses on improving performance on the motorbike as well as providing convenience to its users.

In its internal parts, heavier flywheels are presented and secondary equalizers are useful for reducing excess vibrations. Then, a new oil cooler was also introduced to improve cooling performance.

Furthermore, the central entrance funnel on the engine is 45 mm longer than the outer funnel. This is combined with a narrower entrance and a lower lifting hub increasing the engine torque characteristics between 4000 and 7000 rpm.

In addition, this change is adjusted to the new ECU settings and the connecting pipe between the exhaust headers 1-4 and 2-3. Kawasaki claims that the torque obtained from this increase reached 112 Nm compared to the previous 102 Nm.

Then, Kawasaki also changed the ratio to its internal gear and made it more responsive and fast. The Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) feature which functions has a lower gear movement limit, which is 1,500 rpm.

Other features are also presented at Versys 1100 consisting of a larger 10 mm rear brake disk, a USB-C port that is presented as standard, and there is a Kawasaki Rideology App which is now available on S and SE models.

Versys 1100 will be available on the European dealer network in December at prices ranging from 11,899 to 15,649 pounds (IDR 241 million to IDR 316.9 million).
