JAKARTA Harley-Davidson, which has long been known as an iconic big motorcycle brand but has also begun to explore new segments in the global market. Not only offering premium motorcycles, this US manufacturer introduces the two newest models, X350 and X500, aimed at the Asian market, particularly Japan and China. This move is proof that Harley-Davidson is ready to compete in the motorcycle segment at a more affordable price.
These two models are the result of a collaboration between Harley-Davidson and QJ Motor, previously known as the 302S and Leoncino 500 models from Benelli. So, is there a possibility that these two motorbikes enter the Indonesian market?
Irvino Edwardly, Director of Sales and Marketing JLM Auto Indonesia, explained that his party is interested in expanding the Harley-Davidson segment in Indonesia. However, this step is still waiting for directions from the center.
"We really want to expand the product segment we offer, but until now there has been no direction from the central Harley-Davidson regarding product expansion at a more affordable price as has been done in other countries," said Irvino in an interview in Jakarta on Sunday, August 18.
