JAKARTA - Wuling Motors successfully attracted the attention of visitors when introducing its latest SUV, Wuling Eksion, at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). The premiere of this model immediately sparked public curiosity, especially regarding when the car would be marketed and how much it would cost in the country.

Eksion is introduced as a family SUV that carries modern electrification technology. This model comes with two drive system options, namely Battery Electric Vehicle (EV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). With these two options, consumers have more flexible options in switching to a more environmentally friendly vehicle.

The presence of Eksion is also part of Wuling's steps in strengthening the electrification vehicle line in the Indonesian market. This SUV complements Wuling's latest model lineup after the company previously introduced the Darion MPV.

Wuling Motors Marketing Director Ricky Christian explained that the presence of this new model is a form of the company's commitment to continue to bring innovations that meet the needs of the community.

"In line with Wuling's spirit to continue to innovate and adapt to the mobility needs of Indonesian people, we present various products in each segment, including this latest SUV," said Ricky to reporters in Jakarta, not long ago.

Although it has been shown to the public, Wuling Eksion cannot be ordered by consumers. Currently, the model is still in the preparation stage before it is officially launched in the market.

"Why can't it be ordered, because the product is still being prepared. All Wuling products are locally produced in Cikarang, so we are still preparing the production process," he added.

In addition, Wuling has also not revealed the price range or the opening time for ordering the SUV. The manufacturer is still conducting a number of evaluations and adjustments so that this product can be well received by consumers in Indonesia.

"We can't be sure yet, because we need to monitor the preparations, make sure the product can be accepted well, look at the market, and consider the right timing," concluded Ricky.

Globally, Eksion is an SUV developed from the Starlight 560 model. This vehicle has a fairly large size with a spacious cabin so it is designed to meet the needs of families. In addition, the design is made modern and equipped with electrification technology that is claimed to be efficient.

For the Indonesian market, official specification details have not yet been revealed. However, it is likely not much different from the basic model, namely the Xingguang 560 or Starlight 560. In its home country, this SUV is marketed at prices ranging from 62,800 yuan to 98,800 yuan, equivalent to around Rp152.5 million to Rp239.9 million.
