BYD Seal 08 Officially Launched with a Range of More than 1,000 Km and Blade 2.0 Battery

JAKARTA - BYD officially introduced the Seal 08 electric sedan at the launch of the Blade Battery 2.0 technology. This model is positioned as one of the company's flagship products because it combines a number of BYD's latest technologies.

Reported by Carnewschina, Friday, March 6, the BYD Seal 08 uses megawatt-class fast charging technology, second-generation Blade batteries, rear-wheel steering, and DiSus-A smart body control system.

In terms of design, the Seal 08 adopts a design language inspired by BYD's Ocean-S concept car. The front is sleek and modern with a closed grille and thin headlights that have a pattern resembling waves at the bottom.

On the front bumper there is an air duct combined with ambient lighting resembling a star, while the LiDAR unit is placed on the roof. The back of the car carries a fastback silhouette with wave-style taillights that represent the "marine aesthetics" theme.

For its dimensions, the Seal 08 has a length of 5,150 mm, a width of 1,999 mm, and a height of 1,505 mm with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm, providing large proportions for the premium electric sedan class.

This electric sedan is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and uses the second generation Blade battery. The combination is claimed to be able to deliver a pure electric range of more than 1,000 km.

Seal 08 is also equipped with flash charging technology that allows the car to add up to 400 km of mileage in just about five minutes of charging. In the all-wheel drive (AWD) variant, the maximum power is estimated to exceed 480 kW or the equivalent of 644 hp, so it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than five seconds.

Apart from performance and efficiency, BYD also equips the Seal 08 with various modern chassis technologies. This car will use a rear-wheel steering system to improve agility when maneuvering as well as an intelligent DiSus-A body control system.

For driving assistance features, this vehicle is expected to be equipped with BYD's God's Eye B intelligent driving system (DiPilot 300). BYD stated that the Seal 08 is scheduled to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.

Previously, in December 2025, the company had also announced the Ocean 8 Series Dual Flagship line consisting of the Seal 08 sedan and the Sealion 08 SUV. After the debut of the Seal 08, the Sealion 08 SUV model is expected to be introduced in the near future.
