Waiting for the Arrival of the All-New Mitsubishi Pajero Developed and Built Independently

JAKARTA - Mitsubishi is rumored to be preparing a huge SUV, whose teaser was shown. The model is rumored to be the latest generation Pajero.

Based on a report by Carscoops, quoted, Monday, January 19, there is a rumor that the new Pajero may share key components with the latest generation of Nissan Patrol. Given Mitsubishi's alliance with Nissan and Renault, the idea makes sense.

However, according to the latest report from BestCar, which cites internal company sources, Mitsubishi decided to develop and build the new Pajero entirely on its own.

At the bottom, this SUV is reported to use the same platform as the latest Mitsubishi Triton pickup. Power is expected to come from the Triton's 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 201 hp and 470 Nm of torque.

Electrified Version

It is reported that Mitsubishi will also present an electrified version. Using the same powertrain as the popular Outlander PHEV would be the right choice.

The system combines a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. In total, the two produce a total power of 248 hp and a peak torque of 450 Nm.

The price is still unclear at this early stage, but some Japanese media estimate the price range will be between 5.5 million yen or Rp589 million.
