JAKARTA - Renault Filante was officially introduced in South Korea as Renault's largest hybrid crossover (HEV) developed in collaboration with Geely. Renault Korea said the first unit delivery to consumers is scheduled to start in March 2026.

Reported by Carnewschina, Tuesday, January 13, this new model is priced starting at 43,319,000 won or Rp. 495 million. Renault and Geely's collaboration has become stronger since Geely acquired 34.02 percent of Renault Korea Motors shares in May 2022.

The cooperation continues with the launch of the Grand Koleos in June 2024, the first collaboration model based on Geely Monjaro (Xingyue L) with the CMA architecture, and has become Renault Korea's best-selling product in the domestic market.

On January 13, 2026, Renault Korea introduced Filante as the second model based on the CMA modular architecture. Renault Filante itself has dimensions of 4,915 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, making it the largest in the Renault lineup.

The appearance is made aggressive through the low body line, sporty bumper, frameless grille, and sharp LED lights, with Satin Universe White, Satin Forest Black, Cloud Pearl, Urban Gray, and Metallic Black color options.

Unlike the Grand Koleos, the Filante is not entirely a twin model of a Geely-branded vehicle, but the interior still shows similarities. The cabin carries three 12.3-inch screens on the center console, including one screen specifically for the front passenger, plus a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display.

Other features embedded include an AI-based voice assistant, active noise cancellation, to a driving assistance package that has an emergency steering function. Despite its length approaching five meters, Filante only has two rows of seats.

The luggage capacity reaches 633 liters, and can expand to 2,050 liters when the rear row seats are folded. Renault Filante is produced at the Busan plant and sold with tax cuts for the South Korean market.

In terms of performance, Filante carries a traditional hybrid system with a 1.5-liter engine combined with two electric motors, producing 247 hp. The car uses a small 1.64 kWh battery that cannot be charged externally, but is claimed to allow up to 75 percent electric mode when driving in urban areas.

Average fuel consumption is said to be in the range of 6.6 liters per 100 km. Renault positions Filante as a global model like Grand Koleos, but this SUV is said to be designed for regions outside Europe. After South Korea, the Middle East is predicted to be the next market.
