BYD officially launched the latest Song Pro DM-i PHEV in China featuring a wider pure electric range and updated configuration options.

Quoting from the Carnewschina website, Monday, January 12, the main technical change to the 2026 long-distance Song Pro DM-i compared to the previous version which only has a pure electric range of 133 km is the use of a larger 26.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.

In CLTC testing conditions, this larger battery allows for a pure electric driving range of 220 km. BYD Song Pro DM-i still uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine combined with an electric motor in a PHEV system.

The maximum power of the engine remains 74 kW while the electric motor produces up to 120 kW, with official fuel consumption figures published at 3.2 liters per 100 km.

The long-distance version retains the compact SUV dimensions of the vehicle with a length of 4735 mm, width of 1860 mm, and height of 1690 mm, with a wheelbase of 2712 mm.

The exterior styling for the long-distance model remains largely unchanged from the standard Song Pro DM-i, although two new exterior paint colors have been added to the palette.

The car is embedded with driver assistance software and continues to include the "God's Eye C" driving assistance system, consistent with the existing Song Pro DM-i offering.

The launch of the long-distance version of the Song Pro DM-i adds to BYD's broader strategy for 2026 to increase the electric range of PHEV models.
