JAKARTA - Kia Corporation (Kia) opens a new page in the new year by launching the EV2 at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. Marking the global launch of a compact electric SUV designed to make electric mobility more emotional, intuitive, and accessible.

Kia CEO Ho Sung Song said with the arrival of the EV2, the company is expanding Kia's electric mobility reach to customers who want a compact car that still feels spacious, capable, and provides emotional satisfaction.

"EV2 reflects our commitment to practical innovation by bringing advanced EV technology, meticulous design, and everyday usability into models created for the way people live and move in cities around the world," he said, quoted from the official website, Sunday, January 11.

EV2 plays a strategic role in Kia's growing electric vehicle (EV) portfolio. As the most compact electric SUV in its product lineup, EV2 is designed as an introductory model for novice EV drivers and new Kia buyers, while remaining versatile enough to serve as a convenient, easy-to-use household main vehicle, while still providing emotional satisfaction.

Developed under Kia's Opposites United design philosophy, the EV2 combines compact dimensions with confident proportions and a clear SUV identity. Its upright stance, strong shoulder lines and prominent wheel arches give it a solid presence on the road, while vertical lighting elements and Kia's latest Star Map signature create a distinct modern look.

The clean and robust front shape conveys clarity and advanced EV technology, with powerful lower graphics emphasizing its versatility for city life or spontaneous travel.

From the side, the spacious cabin profile and technical shoulder line create a straight and confident silhouette, supported by geometric wheel arches, sharply defined DLOs, and sturdy fender designs that convey durability and elegance. At the rear, the rear lights positioned on the outer edge emphasize the width, while the carved surface and technical angular shape present a memorable feature.

Entering the cabin, the interior comes with a safety panel that surrounds the interior seamlessly integrated with a panoramic wide screen combining a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a 5-inch climate control panel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. While the horizontal design elements increase the width and visual openness. Rich fabric materials increase tactile comfort and add warmth.

This model comes with two battery options, namely 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh, which provide an estimated range of up to 317 km and 448 km in WLTP calculations. As well as equipped with advanced safety features to provide peace of mind for users.

Production of the EV2 will begin in the first quarter of 2026 with a standard-range model, followed by a long-range variant. The launch time in the market will be announced ahead of the start of sales.
