JAKARTA - Xiaomi gives a refresh to its first model, the SU7, and the unit will officially launch in April 2026.

The announcement was made on the official Weibo page, and those interested can already place an order, because the pre-order has officially opened, as quoted from the CNevpost page, Wednesday, January 7.

Launched on March 28, 2024, with deliveries starting last April, the sedan is one of the most popular EV models in China. In fact, over the past nine months, Xiaomi has shipped more than 360,000 SU7 units.

"Over the past one year and nine months, Xiaomi has shipped more than 360,000 SU7 units, with an average of more than 17,000 units per month," Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said on Weibo.

According to Lei, the refresh of the sedan's appearance will introduce new colors, rims and interior options. And safety will be further improved with LiDAR which is a standard feature in all variants.

He revealed that the new generation SU7 will achieve a significant breakthrough in terms of range and has a sophisticated intelligent chassis. Unfortunately, no other details have been leaked.

However, according to a source, the upcoming SU7 will introduce a new exterior color "Capri Blue", which is described as a deeper and more saturated color compared to the previous "Gulf Blue". The vehicle's aerodynamics will also be improved, with the drag coefficient reportedly reduced to 0.21 Cd.

With several improvements, it is rumored that the price will also increase by around 20,000 yuan or around Rp. 48 million.
