JAKARTA - Nissan officially confirmed that the upcoming three-row compact MPV for India will be named Gravite. This model is part of the brand's strategy in India to target the MPV market.
Citing the Autocarindia website, Friday, December 19, this car is scheduled to make its debut in the Indian market in January 2026, followed by an announcement of the price in March 2026.
The Nissan Gravite is based on the Renault Triber and thus uses the same CMF-A+ platform, possibly also carrying the same powertrain. This model is positioned below the Magnite in Nissan's lineup targeting buyers looking for an affordable 7-seater compact.
The Japanese manufacturer gave a little hint through a teaser, the image shared is similar to the Triber and the overall proportions but gets a different Nissan look with a redesigned front bumper, new grille, and new wheel design.
The headlights carry the Triber shape, but Nissan has implemented new lighting elements to distinguish its model. At the back, the Gravite features a reworked bumper and new taillights.
The interior is predicted to use the same dashboard and steering wheel layout as the Triber. However, Nissan is expected to differentiate the MPV with its own color theme, and feature packaging. Features may include a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging.
Safety equipment is expected to include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist, TPMS, and a rear view camera.
