JAKARTA - Citroen ELO again carried the spirit of the minivan era through the form of the futuristic electric car concept introduced by Citroen. This car shows that a versatile design and high utilities can be re-relevant, especially in electric vehicle format.

Citroen calls ELO an abbreviation for rEst, pLay and wOrk, emphasizing that this concept is designed to answer mobility needs flexibly. Starting from traveling, relaxing, working, to socializing, as reported by ArenaEV, Wednesday, December 10.

Its shape is compact with a length of 4.10 meters, slightly longer than their supermini model, but still offers a relieved interior space thanks to the electrical architecture. The exterior design carries a typical van silhouette.

Starting from the LED lights in the form of boxes on the front and back, as well as the large, glowing Citroen logo on the fascia. Large sliding doors with openings up to 1.92 meters provide easy access to the cabin, while 21-inch wheels with futuristic covers strengthen modern and efficient impressions.

Entering the interior, ELO offers a flexible seating configuration that can accommodate four to six passengers. Driver seats are positioned in the middle, not on the side like cars in general.

Two additional passenger seats can be placed slightly behind the driver's seat, while the three-person seats are in the second row. Front seats can also be rotated 360 degrees during a parking car to make the cabin a meeting area or relaxing room.

The interior approach also lacks visual impairment, instead of a large touch screen, Citroen places a thin screen under the windshield. The steering circle has a futuristic design with a lever resembling a joystick and simple control.

Additional storage space is hidden in gate panels and cabin walls, confirming the utility orientation of this concept. ELO is developed not only as a means of transportation, but also as a multipurpose vehicle.

The cabinet can be converted into a sleeping area with two inflatable mattresses made from Dropstitch that can be stored in the trunk. For entertainment needs, a screen can be lowered to turn the interior into a viewing room.

Citroen CEO Xavier Chardon, said that ELO provides a strong message regarding the direction of brand development going forward. Citroen Design Director, Pierre Leclercq, described ELO as an energy explosion that combines efficiency and creativity.

The ELO concept will make its public debut at an automotive exhibition in Brussels in January 2026. Citroen said that although it was not planned to enter the production line, ELO design ideas and elements could potentially form the basis for a new subcompact model estimated to be around 2028.
