BYD Prepares Updates For MPV M6, What Has Changed?

JAKARTA BYD seems to be preparing new ammunition to maintain an increasing sales performance. The Chinese brand is known to be preparing an update for the MPV M6 model.

Citing Carnewschina, Thursday, December 4, the images circulating show significant changes to the interior, especially in the PHEV variant.

The INterior BYD M6 is now adopting a new central tunnel design equipped with two wireless phone charging pads, a number of physical buttons, two compartments for the bottle, as well as a pressneling lever move to the steering area.

The model uses a D-shaped steering wheel with a BYD emblem, hinting that this latest version may be aimed at the global market. Its center console also uses floating touchscreens and LCD instrument clusters.

The dimensions of BYD M6 are recorded to have a length of 4,710 mm, a width of 1,810 mm, a height of 1,690 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,785 mm.

Although the engine specifications have not been announced, this model is predicted to be equipped with a DM-i 5.0 hybrid plug-in system. The configuration consists of a 1.5 liter engine powered by 74 kW (99 hp) paired with an electric motorcycle of 160 kW (215 hp).

For the record, BYD Song Max first appeared in the Chinese market in 2017 as a gasoline-engine MPV, followed by the PHEV and BEV variants. The model received the latest update in 2022 before finally stopping its sales in China.

In Indonesia, this model is already present but only in the BEV version. Will the PHEV variant be marketed too? It's worth waiting.
