This IDR 73 Billion Car Becomes The Fastest Large Car On Two Famous Circuits

JAKARTA - A hypercar manufacturer from Sweden, Koenigsegg, has made history again through its limited edition model, Sadair's Spear. This car has now been named the fastest road legal production vehicle after breaking record laps on two well-known circuits.

The Sadair's Spear model, developed as a more extreme version of Jesko Attack, is equipped with a 5.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine with a power of up to 1,625 horsepower (hp) when using E85 fuel. The empty weight is only about 1,385 kilograms, making it one of the cars with the most impressive energy-to-weight ratio in the automotive world.

Sadair's Spear's main achievement occurred at the Gotland Ring circuit, Sweden, where the car managed to record a time of 2 minutes 55.88 seconds on a 7.3 kilometer track. The time note places it as the fastest highway production car on the track.

The car was driven by the Koenigsegg test driver, Markus Lundh, who is known to have experience in testing high-performance vehicles. It didn't stop there, Sadair's Spear also set another record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England.

In the highway production car category, the car recorded a time of 47.14 seconds, surpassing previous records and affirming Koenigsegg's dominance in the hyper segment of the car. Founder and CEO of Koenigsegg Christian von Koenigsegg, said that this achievement was the result of a thorough refinement of the design, aerodynamics, and engine performance.

Sadair's Spear represents a natural evolution for Koenigsegg, a balance between strength, aerodynamic precision, and the extraordinary character of the highway," he said as quoted by Carbuzz, Friday, November 7.

Koenigsegg only produces 30 Sadair's Spear units worldwide. The entire unit was reported to have sold out even before this car was officially introduced to the public. The selling price reaches around 3.8 million euros, or the equivalent of Rp73 billion making it one of the most expensive and most exclusive cars in the world.
