Leaked Specifications Of Two Changan Electric Cars That Will Be Sold In Indonesia

JAKARTA Indonesia will have another new automotive brand from China, Changan Automobile. Changan will launch two models at once and debut at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) event.

"We will officially launch a new product as a first step in introducing Changan's advantages to the Indonesian people," said the Chief Marketing Officer of PT Indomobil Transport (DIT), Ariadi, at a press conference at GJAW 2025 in Senayan, Thursday, October 23.

In his presentation, you can see a silhouette of two cars with a city car model and a premium SUV. It is predicted that the electric cars are Changan Deepal S07 and Changan Lumin.

In its home country, Deepal S07 has launched in July 2024. The car is present in two choices of driving systems, namely the pure electric version (EV) and the range-extender version (EREV).

This car was built on Changan Automobile's EPA1 platform, which is also used in several other electric models under the group. In terms of dimensions, S07 has a length of 4,750 mm, a width of 1,930 mm, a height of 1,625 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.

For the pure electric variant (EV), Deepal S07 is equipped with a single electric motor with two power choices, namely 160 kW and 190 kW. The energy is supplied by a battery with a capacity of 68.82 kWh or 79.97 kWh which is able to cover a distance of up to 520 km and 628 km respectively based on the CLTC test.

All batteries use lithium iron phosphate (LFP), which is known to be stable and durable. The charging system also supports fast charging from 30 percent to 80 percent in just about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, for the EREV variant, S07 uses a 1.5 liter gasoline engine as a range-extender with a power of 70 kW.

This machine does not move wheels directly, but functions to charge batteries that power 175 kW or 190 kW electric motors. The EREV variant also comes with several battery options, including 31.73 kWh and 39.05 kWh.

The combination of this system is able to produce a total distance of up to 1,200 km based on CLTC standards. In terms of performance, the EREV version of Deepal S07 is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in about 6.7 seconds.

Meanwhile, Lumin is a tiny electric car with a compact design and is a competitor to Wuling Air ev and BYD Atto 1. This car has a length dimension of 3,270 mm, a width of 1,700 mm, a height of 1,545 mm, and a wheel distance of 1,980 mm.

The weight is relatively light, which is between 805 kg to 945 kg, depending on the battery capacity used. As reported by Carnewschina, Saturday, October 25.

The basic variant has about 30 kW of power or the equivalent of 41 horse power with a 48 Nm peak torque. Although not the most powerful in class, this car is quite responsive for daily use and acceleration of 0 to 50 km per hour can be reached within 6.1 seconds.

The lowest variant of the change is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 12.92 kWh which can cover a distance of up to 155 kilometers. The medium choice uses a 17.65 kWh battery with a distance of about 210 kilometers, while the highest variant carries a 28 kWh battery which can cover a distance of up to 301 kilometers in the CLTC cycle.

All variants use lithium-tech iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries which are known to last long and safe. In China, Changan Lumin is sold at prices ranging from IDR 100 million only for the lowest variant.
