This Ferrari Cannot Enter The Highway But Is Auctioned For IDR 21 Billion!

JAKARTA - Ferrari is known as a symbol of luxury, performance, and exclusivity. However, who would have thought, there is a special Ferrari 458 unit with a V12 engine that cannot be driven on public roads, but strangely it will be auctioned at a fantastic price, reaching more than IDR 21 billion.

As reported by Carscoops, Monday, October 13, the car is not just any Ferrari 458. The prototype, named M6, is part of a secret project that Ferrari developed in early decades.

The goal is not to be sold to the public, but to be a test material for the development of the legendary LaFerrari supercar. Different from the standard Italian Ferrari 458 using a naturally assisted V8 4.5 liter engine, M6 actually carries a wild-powered V12 engine which will later become the heart of Ferrari's first hybrid hypercar.

This machine is used to test the braking, steering, and suspension systems that will be adopted at LaFerrari. Interestingly, all tests were carried out at the Fiorano circuit between February 2012 and May 2013.

In terms of appearance, most of the bodies still resemble Ferrari 458, but some parts such as bumpers and engine caps are often replaced with experimental versions. This makes M6 really unique and different from any production model.

According to RM Sotheby's auction body records, this rare prototype was first sold to private collectors in July 2016. Although all of its components function perfectly, this car does not have a highway permit, so it can only be driven on closed tracks or private areas.

M6 will now be auctioned again with an estimated price of between 1.05 million and 1.3 million US dollars, or equivalent to Rp17.4 billion to Rp21.6 billion. Before changing hands, this car will first undergo an official inspection at Maranello to ensure its performance remains prime.
