Suzuki Jimny Competitors Now Presents Their Latest Version At A Price Of IDR 180 Million

JAKARTA Mahindra officially introduced Thar facelift 2025, which brought a number of significant updates to the display and features, without changing the engine's performance. Now, Thar is ready to compete again with Suzuki Jimny 3 doors.

The legendary Indian SUV is now more modern with a touch of updated design and increased comfort in the cabin, as reported by Gaadiwaadi, Tuesday, October 7. In an outward view, Mahindra provides a new color palette, namely Tango Red and Battleship Gray.

That replaces the previous red choice. These two colors are also used in the five-door ROXX variant. The front goal is now painted matching the body color, while the front and back bumper gets a dual-tone touch that gives the impression of being more resilient.

Even so, the main light retains a round-shaped classic style with halogen technology without DRL LED. The back is now more functional with a backward camera mounted in the middle of the baggage door and attached to the spare wheels.

Mahindra also added the back wiper and washer as a standard feature in all variants, which were previously only available at certain types. Entering the cabin, the atmosphere is getting more elegant thanks to the all-black interior theme.

The most striking change can be seen in the new 10,25-inch infotainment display with HD resolution, which now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connections. The position of the window control button is also moved from the center to the door, providing more comfort for drivers and passengers.

In addition, fuel tank caps can now be opened directly from inside the cabin without the need to use the key manually. The comfort of passengers is also improved by the presence of AC ventilation in the back row, rear seats with a configuration of 50:50 split, as well as additional handle belts in pillar A to make it easier to get in and out of vehicles.

The HVAC control system is also now designed to be more intuitive so that it is easy to operate while driving. In terms of performance, Mahindra Thar facelift still relies on old machines that have proven reliable.

The options include a control engine of 2.0 liters of turbo (mStillion 150 TGDi) powered 150 bhp with a torque of 300 320 Nm, as well as a 2.2 liter diesel engine (mHawk) with a power of 130 bhp and a torque of 300 Nm. In addition, there is also a 1.5 liter diesel option (D117 CRDe) which produces 117 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque, specifically for two-wheeled driven variants (RWD).

Interestingly, Mahindra is now adding the Electronic Front Axle Disconnect technology, which allows the front wheel axis to be released automatically while traveling on the highway, so that the vehicle operates as RWD.

This feature is claimed to be able to increase fuel efficiency without sacrificing Thar's typical offroad capabilities. In India, Mahindra Thar faceslift is sold from 999,000 rupees or around Rp. 187 million.
