Rolls-Royce Confirms 100 Years Of Phantom Edition, Only 25 Units In The World

JAKARTA - Rolls-Royce has again shown its expertise in preparing ultra-luxury cars by preparing a limited special edition of Phantom to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the legendary name. The exclusive collection, called the 'Rolls-Royce Private Collection', will only produce 25 units worldwide, making it one of the rarest and most highly valued works of the manufacturer from Goodwood.

Based on the eighth generation of Phantoms carrying a V12 twin-turbo engine, the main attraction of this centenary edition is not just performance, but a touch of bespoke in its interior. Rolls-Royce said the car would feature a number of details that had never existed before in their history.

Based on Autocar's report, quoted Wednesday, October 1, one of the highlights is on the wooden mat which is claimed to be the most complicated Rolls-Royce has ever made. The manufacturing process is so complex that it requires special training for the work team, even the design development takes more than a year. As a result, each interior panel turns into a work of art that is not only beautiful to look at, but also of high value from a technical point of view.

Head of Bespoke Rolls-Royce Phil Fabre de la Grange, explained that in honor of a century of Phantoms, his team combined three-dimensional layout techniques, textured ink coatings, and a touch of 24-carat pure gold leaves on one wooden surface.

"This complicated process drives material natural boundaries, so every panel looks like an amazing statue," he said.

The launch of this edition follows the tradition of Rolls-Royce's limited collection, such as Phantom Scintilla which was made only 10 units and inspired by the iconic statue of Spirit of Ecstasy. Just like the previous collection, the 100-year-old Phantom is predicted to be the target of world-class collectors and the highest exclusivity symbol in the automotive world.
