Xpeng X9 EREV Coming Soon, Offers Fantastic Tempuh Distance 1,600 Km

JAKARTA The electric car manufacturer from China, Xpeng, is ready to launch the latest variant of its flagship MPV, Xpeng X9.

This launch follows previous success with the BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) version, which was the best-selling MPV in China last June, now Xpeng is preparing to launch Xpeng X9 EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) which offers a long-distance advantage.

The Xpeng X9 EREV debut is scheduled for October 2025, Carscoops and CarNewsChina reported on Monday, September 15. This variant is here as a solution for consumers who are still worried about limited travel distance for electric cars. Different from conventional hybrid cars, EREV uses a gasoline engine only as a generator to charge batteries, not to drive wheels directly.

Xpeng X9 EREV relies on a 1.5 liter turbo engine with a power of 110 kW (148 hp) which functions as an increase in power. This system is combined with a 63.3 kWh LFP battery made by CALB. Thanks to this combination, Xpeng X9 EREV can reach a distance of 1,600 km in CLTC condition if the fuel tank and battery are fully charged.

Not only offering a long distance, but Xpeng X9 EREV is also supported by super fast charging technology. Thanks to the 800V high-voltage system, this car supports 5C charging with a peak power of around 316.5 kW. With this technology, battery charging becomes more efficient and fast, reducing user waiting time.

For pure electricity travel distance (BEV), Xpeng X9 EREV is capable of traveling up to 450 km (based on CLTC standards), ideal enough for daily use in the city.

As a multipurpose vehicle, Xpeng X9 EREV has a wide dimension, namely 5316 mm (long), 1988 mm (wide), and 1785 mm (high), with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. The weight reaches 2,750 kg. This variant is expected to help boost Xpeng X9 sales, which previously recorded a cumulative sales of 32,765 units for the BEV version.

The launch of Xpeng X9 EREV demonstrates Xpeng's commitment to providing a wide selection of environmentally friendly vehicles that suit consumer needs and preferences.
