Lexus Showcases The Latest IS, A Combination Of Responsive Performance And Aggressive Design

JAKARTA - Lexus has hit the global automotive market again by introducing the New IS first. This rear-wheeled compact sports sedan (FR) is claimed to bring significant evolution to its performance and design, focusing on the deeper driving experience between the driver and the car. This latest model is scheduled to go on sale in various markets starting in early 2026.

With cumulative sales reaching around 1.3 million units in 40 countries, IS has become one of the iconic Lexus models that continues to get praise thanks to its dynamic performance and daring design.

The development of this latest model involves rigorous testing in various locations, including Shimoyama's Toyota Technical Center, to fine-tune a distinctive performance known as the "Lexus Driving Signature."

This latest model comes in two variants, namely IS 300h and IS 350. Carrying the main theme Compurification on Performance and Design, Lexus refines the quality that has become its trademark. To improve driving experience, the new Electric Power Steering (EPS) steering system is now using variable dental ratios to provide a more linear response. In addition, the adoption of AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspension) linear solenoid types ensures an optimal balance between stability and comfort, reducing shocks from the road surface.

More Aggressive View And Advanced Features

Visually, New IS features a more assertive and aggressive exterior design. The front is redesigned to highlight a low center of gravity and a wide posture. Especially for the "F SPORT" model, a new designed back spoiler is present to improve aerodynamics, as well as a lightweight, stylized 19-inch aluminum rim, reflecting its sharp driving character. The exterior color selection also increases with the presence of a new dynamic "Neutrino Gray" color.

In the cabin, Lexus presents an update that focuses on driver functionality and convenience. The touch screen display is enlarged to 12.3 inches, offering better visibility and operation. The digital instrument panel in front of the driver was also upgraded to a 12.3-inch full LCD display to provide clear information. The interior window is now enriched with a newly developed "Forged Bamboo" trim, as well as a new cabin color choice of "Prominence" inspired by the flare's flare, creating a sporty atmosphere.

Not only that, safety features are also improved. Lexus complements this model with the Extended Lexus Safety System +, as well as introduces the advanced driver assistance system Advanced Drive [Lexus Teammate Advanced Drive] which supports motorists on toll roads for more relaxed and secure long-distance travel.
