Toyota Vios Hybrid Soon To Land In The Philippines, When In Indonesia?

JAKARTA - After arriving in Thailand, Toyota Ativ or known as Vios in various countries is rumored to be coming to the Philippines soon. This refers to the brand's post on the Facebook page.

Quoting from the Top Gear PH page, Tuesday, September 2, Toyota has just posted a picture of a front light resembling an all-new Vios. The image is also embedded in the words A, T, I, V, which are highlighted in blue.

As is known, the color marks the hybrid Toyota and Ativ models as Vios in the Thai domestic market. So, it is very likely that the model in question will launch soon.

There are no details shared other than that picture, but it refers to the global market that the sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine with a lithium ion battery that drives a compact single electric motor. The system removes a total of 109 cellphones and electric motors producing 141 Nm. This is the same setup found at the Yaris Cross HEV.

One unnamed source revealed that the model will be present in the Philippines in October, meaning one month from now the Vios hybrid will greet the local market.

Toyota Thailand sold Yaris Ativ HEV Premium variant 719 thousand baht or around Rp359.8 million while GR Sport 769 thousand or around Rp384.9 million.

Of course not a few have asked when this model will be present in Indonesia? Previously, Toyota Indonesia was known to have registered a Vios Hybrid in the country.

This model has been registered with the Indonesian government system in the attachment to the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation (Permendagri) Number 8 of 2024 which regulates the basis for imposition of motor vehicle taxes.

There are two model codes, namely VIOS 1.5 HYBRID CVT (NYC100R-TEXHB) and VIOS 1.5 HYBRID CVT GRS (NYC100R-TEXGE). Both are strongly suspected to refer to the hybrid Vios variant.

Will it launch in the near future in Indonesia too? Of course it is worth the wait.
