The Newest Luxeed R7 Released With 1,551 Km Mileage

JAKARTA - The latest model of the updated Luxeed R7 has begun production in China. This model is assembled at Chery's factory in Wuhu, Anhui Province.

Quoting from Carnewschina, Tuesday, August 12, the car is assembled at a factory called the 'Luxeed Super Factory'. The factory has a planned peak production capacity of 300,000 vehicles per year.

Images shared show the vehicles in a new green color, which gives the car a more modern appearance. In terms of specifications, the updated car features a LiDAR sensor on the roof, active air intakes at the front, and sharp headlights combined with thin LED strips.

On August 10, Tian Lan reported that sales of the Luxeed R7 are scheduled for next week. The updated cars will be delivered to HIMA dealers across China with a starting price of 268,000 yuan (approximately IDR 600 million).

The Luxeed R7's changes include a slightly redesigned front fascia, with a more aggressive bumper and redesigned emblem. This large fastback crossover measures 4,982 mm in length, 1,981 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height.

It features Huawei's ADS 4 driver assistance system with a 192-line LiDAR, five 4D mm-wave radars, eleven cameras, and twelve ultrasonic radars.

Inside, the Luxeed R7's interior seats five. The center console features a 16.1-inch floating touchscreen with 3K resolution. The LCD instrument panel is located behind the oval-shaped three-spoke steering wheel.

The SUV's center console features two wireless phone charging pads and a pair of cup holders. The gearshift lever is located on the steering column. Other highlights of the updated R7's cabin include a new purple color, 21 speakers, a refrigerator, and zero-gravity front seats.

The entry-level BEV variant of the Luxeed R7 features a single electric motor on the rear axle with 288 hp. The AWD version offers a combined peak power of 489 hp. The R7 BEV is available with two battery options: 82 kWh and 100 kWh. Its range ranges between 667 and 802 km in CLTC conditions.

The Luxeed R7 EREV has a peak power of 304 hp or 382 kW (512 hp), depending on the drivetrain. Both 37 kWh and 53.4 kWh batteries are offered, providing an EV range of 251 to 360 km (151 to 220 miles) in CTC calculations. Thanks to the 1.5-liter turbocharged range-extending engine under the hood, the Luxeed R7 EREV can travel up to 1,551 km.
