Referring to the manufacturer's global release, Friday, August 8, the latest Porsche 911 Cup is the evolution of its predecessor, the 911 GT3 Cup, which has been known as one of the best-selling GT racing cars in the world.

According to Jan Feldmann, GT's Car Project Manager at Porsche Motorsport, the development team is focused on input from the global one-make cup community to produce more sophisticated racing cars in various aspects.

"We are already at a very high level of performance with the current GT3 Cup, so we can focus on perfecting this car based on the needs of the team and riders," said Feldmann.

A significant increase was made in aerodynamics, especially on the front of the car, which enhances control capabilities. In addition, the safety, electronics, braking systems, power transmission, and six-cylinder boxer machines also received an innovative touch. Michelin is again an official tire partner, ensuring optimal performance on track.

Like its predecessor, the Porsche 911 Cup will be produced at Porsche's main facility in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, on the same production line as the 911 model for the highway. The production process will begin in the fall of 2025, ensuring the car is ready for the 2026 racing season.

Intensive Testing With Environmentally Friendly eFuels

The development of the Porsche 911 Cup is said to have begun in January 2024 at the Porsche Motorsport development center in Weissach, Germany. The car has been extensively tested at the Monza Grand Prix (Italy), Lausitzring (Brandenburg), and internal trajectories at Weissach. The tests were carried out by experienced racers, including former Porsche Junior such as Bastian Bous (Mobil 1 Supercup 2023 Porsche champion), Klaus Bachler (FIA Endurance Trophy winner for LMGT3 Drivers 2024), Laurin serin.

Interestingly, all tests were carried out using the same eFuel mixture as those used in the 2025 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. This fuel met the Federation Internationale de l Automobile (FIA) standard for renewable fuels (Advanced Sustainable), with the content of the renewable components reaching 79.7 percent volume. This fuel, which consists mostly of synthetic gasoline (MtG) and waste-based ethanol, resulted in a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 66 percent compared to fossil fuels, with an octane value of 100.5 RON.
