New Bongsor SUV Prototype From Xiaomi Revealed Under Road Test, Can Challenge Aito M9

JAKARTA - After success with its first SU7 model and YU7 SUV, Xiaomi is expected to be preparing a next car model which is expected to be named YU9. Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Tuesday, July 8, the prototype disguised is believed to be a camera caught Xiaomi vehicle testing the road in China. The car is named the 'Kunlun' code and will most likely be named YU9. It is predicted that the car will later package Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology. Although Xiaomi has not made any direct comments about the YU9 prototype, its appearance suggests that the company may speed up its push to the premium segment.

Based on a spy photo available on Weibo's social media posts, YU9 is expected to be a large size SUV that offers a six or seven-dwarf configuration, with a length of 5.3 meters. Spy photos show a high and perpendicular SUV with sharp edges and a high belt line. Some renderings illustrate its proportion to reminiscent of premium models, such as Rolls-Royce Cullinan, although this is still speculative.

The front design section resembles YU7, which features a higher hood line and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, which shows the integration of advanced driver assistance features. If officially launched, Xiaomi YU9 will most likely target the premium market and will compete with Huawei-backed Li Auto L9 and Aito M9. Regarding the heart of the runway, the car is predicted to adopt a 1.5 L turbo engine with all wheels driving, and has a pure electric distance of 200 km, with a combined distance of up to 1,500 km.
