JAKARTA - A well-known automotive manufacturer from China, BYD is ready to shake up the British market by immediately presenting Denza B5 which will compete with Land Rover Defender.

According to the manufacturer, this car has a tough design that is typical of off-road but has performances like supercars and fuel-saving because it uses plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology.

Launching from Autocar, Saturday, July 5, this car has the real name Bao 5 from the Fangchengbao subbrand in China. But for the British market, BYD will embed the name Denza on this car as its premium vehicle line.

Unfortunately, the company has not provided further information regarding the detailed specifications for this King Charles country consumer.

Based on specifications at home, Denza B5 uses the Super-Hybrid Off-Road DMO ladder-frame platform which is known to be tough but compatible with environmentally friendly powertrains.

Its engine relies on 1.5 liters of turbo armed with an electric motor on each axis. This system generates up to 677 hp of power and a 760 Nm peak torque or larger than any Defender, including the new V8 Octa.

With a battery of 31.8 kWh with a large capacity, this car is capable of providing a range of up to 125 km with pure electric power on the CLTC cycle.

Denza B5 will debut on the UK market at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 which takes place this July, in hopes of starting for sale early next year along with Z9 GT.
