MG Officially Reveals The Latest MG4 EV Details, Take A Peek At The Changes

JAKARTA - After a little information was revealed by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) regarding the presence of the latest generation of MG4 EVs, now the manufacturer has revealed details of the model.

According to a report from Carnewschina, quoted on Tuesday, July 1, MG revealed little details of the latest generation MG4 EV at an event in China ahead of its official launch on September 5.

The information shared is similar to MIIT, where there are a myriad of significant changes, both in terms of design, dimension, technology, and not a platform as part of a wider SaiC Motor push.

The presence of the MG4 EV also aims to strengthen the attractiveness of the domestic market, while building proven success in the global market, including Indonesia.

It was revealed in terms of dimensions that this electric car now has a length of 4,395 mm, a width of 1,842 mm, and a height of 1,551 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The figure is an increase compared to the previous generation, which has a dimensions of 4,287 mm in length, a width of 1,836 mm, a height of 1,516 mm.

This car uses a 120 kW permanent magnetic motor mounted on the back and an iron phosphate lithium (LFP) battery package supplied by Rept Battery Energy. The highest speed is considered at 160 km/hour. Unfortunately, the battery capacity and the range figure have not been disclosed.

MG Director Chen Cui has hinted that the model may be the first in his class to be equipped with a semi solid state battery as a standard, a technology that offers better energy density, security, and durability.

The interesting thing offered in this electric car is the innovative cockpit system developed together with Oppo. Which supports mirroring that makes it easier for users. There are also voice commands, to movement-based navigation.

Striking design updates are in the front grip, to back lights such as the Cyberster electric roadster. Then, equipped with a 17-inch rim that makes it look very sporty. Will this latest generation also later greet the Indonesian automotive market? Of course it is worth waiting for.
