Not In Indonesia, Mitsubishi XForce HEV Launches First In Thailand

JAKARTA - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (hereafter Mitsubishi Motors) officially launched its new electric hybrid vehicle (HEV) model from the XForce model in Thailand.

Quoting from its official website, Thursday, March 20, Mitsubishi XForce HEV will be assembled locally in Thailand, more precisely at the Laen Chabang factory and its marketing has started in Thailand.

XForce itself is an SUV of five passengers whose debut was in Indonesia on August 10, 2023, then this one model was launched to other ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, the Philippines and even Latin America and Africa in the following year.

As one of the global strategic vehicles Mitsubishi Motors, this car is praised for its stylized but tough and authentic SUV style in the cabin of five wide and comfortable passengers, as well as presenting a compact and agile body size.

Mitsubishi Motors President and Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato, said Globally, HEV is increasingly in demand as the main choice of electric vehicles that do not require charging infrastructure.

"Given this trend, Mitsubishi Motors is proud to add the Xforce HEV model to our line of products in Thailand, which is one of our most important markets. Together with the Xpander HEV series, we are committed to encouraging electrification in the Thai market as well as exploring launches in other countries in the future," said Takao Kato.

By design, this car combines sturdy moderates and this SUV comes with a stylized and powerful authentic design. On the front there is an emblem of three diamonds and the upper line looks sleek. There is also a HEV emblem on the grip and back door.

The engine presented to this environmentally friendly car model is the same as the Xpander, namely 1,600 cc hybrid 4A92, which has 95 ps of power and 134 Nm of torque and 116 ps of electric motor and 255 Nm of torque. The battery embedded is lithium ions with a capacity of 1.1 kWh and transaxle transmission.

For the Thai market, Mitsubishi XForce HEV comes with three variants ranging from Ignite which is priced at 899,000 baht or Rp440 million, there is also Ultimate 1,039,000 baht or Rp509 million, and the highest is Ultimate X 1,089,000 baht or Rp533 million.

Will they be present in Indonesia in the near future? Given that the environmentally friendly vehicle market is quite attractive in the country.
