JAKARTA - The presence of the Porsche 911 Dakar in 2022 has become a phenomenon in the world of sports cars. This is because this one car has the ability to cross various terrains inspired by the legendary Dakar Reli event.

After his debut three years ago, this brand from Germany is ready to present 911 Dakar which is powered by a hybrid and promises better on-road and off-road performances than before.

Autocar reportedly, Wednesday, February 11, a senior source said the model was being developed at Porsche's engineering center, to be precise in Weissach, Germany. The facility is also part of the latest 911 development version of 992.

Although the manufacturer does not want to provide further comment, it is also reported that Porsche officials are planning a launch of 911 hybrid-driven Dakar by the end of 2025.

It is estimated that the car will feature a sturdy design like before, but carries innovative T-hybrid technology such as the 911 GTS facelift model that launched last year.

This combines the latest 3.6 liter boxer machines with the T-hybrid system and the eight-speed transmission system dual-clutch, so that it can blow up the maximum power of 541 ps and 610 Nm torque.

The car will come with technology inspired by the 24 Hours Le Mans winning racing car, namely Porsche 919 armed with 1.9 kWh of battery.

As an illustration, the latest Porsche 911 GTS hybrid has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds with the highest speed reaching 312 km/hour.

Just like before, the Porsche 911 hybrid-powered Dakar will be available in limited quantities. Previous versions provided only 2,500 units worldwide and production ended in November 2024.

The manufacturer is also developing a series of new paint schemes and other options offered through Sonderwapung for this new model. The price is estimated to be above its predecessor, which is around 173,000 pounds (Rp 3.5 billion).
