BAIC And Huawei Design The EREV Version Of Stelato S9, Here Are The Specification Estimates

JAKARTA - BAIC BluePark together with Huawei are reportedly developing a range-extender (EREV) variant of the Stelato S9 model to increase sales volume in China.

Launching from CarNewsChina, Saturday, February 8, one of the top officials from BAIC BluePark revealed that he was designing the EREV variant from the luxury model. Unfortunately, the company did not provide further details about this project.

It is estimated that this full-size sedan will adopt the EREV system from the BAIC BJ60 Thunder SUV. The SUV has a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine that functions as a generator, not a major driver.

BJ60 Thunder has the main driver of an electric motorcycle combined with an engine that gives a peak power of 185 hp. In terms of batteries, this car has an NMC ternary battery of 40.3 kWh.

This package sends power to two electric motors. The front electric engine produces up to 205 hp and the back reaches 335 hp.

Information about Stelato S9 EREV is still a big question mark. However, it is estimated that this driver will be present at the Estate type and large SUV.

Currently, Stelato S9 comes in a pure EV variant to compete with German cars such as BMW i7 and Mercedes-Benz EQS. This car is priced starting at 399,800 yuan or equivalent to IDR 895.3 million.

Built on the Turing platform, the car has a length dimension of 5,160 mm, a width of 1,987 mm, a height of 1,486 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,050 mm.

For the interior, Huawei claims that this car has room in the cabin to reach 3,460 mm by adopting an Inside-Out design that integrates the inside and outside in order to maximize the interior.

Stelato S9 EV uses an electric motor measuring 227 kW located on the back axis. This sedan is also present in the double motorcycle variant with 158 kW of power each and has a battery with a range of 800 km.
